The 6 Worst TV Bosses

It's rare to like your boss, but we hate just thinking about working for these guys.

Last night was the season finale of The Office and if you don’t watch the show or missed the episode you need to see it. Anyways, as funny as the show is to watch, it is almost painful to think about what it would be like going to a job where Michael Scott was your boss. The things he says and does are ridiculous and we don’t think we would be able to put up with it. Talking about Michael Scott got us thinking about other brutal TV bosses, and found below is our list of the 6 worst bosses on TV.

Mr. Burns - The Simpsons

Crotchety, greedy, callous, and undying - how are those qualities for an employer? C. Montgomery Burns, or Mr. Burns to his employees, makes life even more difficult for those working in his beloved nuclear power plant, from taking away their dental plan to having the penchant for dropping employees through trap doors in his office floor.

On top of this, for the 10 years Homer Simpson has worked for "Monty Burns", Mr. Burns has never managed to remember Homer's name. How much more removed can you get from your employees?

Captain Kirk - Star Trek

The exploits of Captain James Tiberious Kirk may be enjoyable to watch, but could you imagine being the lowly red-shirt ensign working on The Enterprise? Never knowing when it would be your turn to be asked to come on the dreaded away mission, always knowing how expendable you are... and having a boss that could care less if you lived or died. After all, he has an endless supply of new recruits from Starfleet Academy to replenish his ranks.

Female employees also have to be constantly vigilant to avoid sexual harassment from this known lothario. He may be irresistible to alien women, but repulsive to human women. More for me, I guess.

Mr. Wick - Drew Carey

Pray your last name isn't Johnson if you work for this horrible boss. Mr. Wick is the womanizing Englishman responsible for the Cleveland branch of Winfred-Louder Department Stores, and Drew Carey's tyrannical boss.

Think your boss makes outlandish demands, try working for Mr. Wick: He forced Drew to marry him so he could retain his US Citizenship! Makes it seem pretty bad when you complain about getting your boss a coffee, doesn't it?

Jack Donaghy – 30 Rock

Some bosses are abusive because they can be and they love feeling powerful, but a guy like Jack Donaghy is abusive to his employees with out even really knowing it. The man who is "Vice President of East Coast Television and Microwave Oven Programming" at NBC is especially rough on Liz, and even set her up on a date with a woman because he thought she was a lesbian.

It might seem like Donaghy only picks on Liz Lemon but everyone else gets the dose sometime or another. Hell, the man hired a doctor to drug on of his on air personalities and continuously told another woman that she was too fat…and any guy knows how bad of an idea that is.

J. Peterman – Seinfeld

Mr. Peterman may have been one of the most obscure bosses in the history in television and while it may have appeared like Elaine was on easy street some of the stuff she had to put up with was ridiculous.

It might seem awesome being forced to take over a company because your boss takes off for Burma in a whim but could you imagine how stressful that would be? Don’t forget that when Peterman was around the office he ran a tight ship. You could get fired for not liking ‘The English Patient.’

Michael Scott – The Office

We’re not sure we’ve ever seen such a clueless TV character. Michael Scott has no clue where to draw the line and because of that he is always putting his employees at Dunder Mifflin in awkward situations.

Whether it’s Pam, Jim or Toby you can guarantee that Michael will find something inappropriate to say or do to his employees like in the clip below.
