The Olympics have unfortunately come to an end. Every country seem to give it their all, and of course with home advantage China came out on top. The United States came in second but China was literally an unstoppable force. The top three countries and their medals were:

China- 51 GOLD - 21 SILVER - 28 BRONZE = 100
USA - 36 GOLD - 38 SILVER - 36 BRONZE = 110
RUSSIA - 23 GOLD - 21 SILVER - 28 BRONZE = 72
The United States still did manage to bring home the most Olympic medals than any other country in the world.
The next Olympics will be held in Vancouver Canada for the 2010 Winter Olympic Games. Canada only managed to pull in 18 medals this year and as disappointing as that is, we'll have to see if the home advantage continues. The 2006 Winter Olympics were much tighter in competition between countries, though there were not nearly as many medals available.
Well hopefully you cought the games on TV, but if you didn't, I'm sure you'll be able to catch the highlights.
