Chris the Creep takes a look at this week's big releases - what's a seer and what's a skipper!

Well it's official - with $200 MILLION in less than 5 days The Dark Knight has officially made more money than God. It's a bona-fied success, recouping what the film cost easily - now it's all pure profit. Lucky them.

I feel sorry for this week's new releases. Chances are people will still be going to see The Dark Knight this weekend rather than one of these two quality flicks. It's a shame because I'm torn as to which to see... well, torn between THREE options, I guess.

Step Brothers

From the guys that brought you Talladega Nights, it's Step Brothers. Once again the comedic pairing of Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly hit the big screen, bringing their amazing mix of ridiculous, stupid, and hilarious - they play two middle-aged, unemployed slackers who still live with their aging parents. But when each of their single parents get married they become *gasp* Step Brothers.

What happens when these two prima donnas suddenly have to fight for attention from their parents? And what happens when they're forced to get jobs? Makes me wish I could coast through life without a job, living in my parents' house... but instead I live the glamorous life of an internet writer.

X-Files: I want to Believe

I was a huge fan of The X-Files back during in its run on TV - surprise surprise, big nerd is a big nerd. So when I heard Scully (Gillian Anderson) and Mulder (David Duchovny) were teaming back up for another big screen attempt, I actually got pretty excited. It's a shame it's being released a mere week after The Dark Knight as it's likely Batman is going to take a big bite out of any potential profits.

Chris Carter creator of The X-Files and director of X-Files: I Want to Believe recently confirmed in an interview that it's unlikely The X-Files would return to TV... but never say never, right?

X-Files: I Want to Believe teams up Scully and Mulder again to follow the prophetic visions of a maddened preacher (Billy Connolly) to further uncover what semblance of truth lies beneath all the conspiracy.

Both flicks looks solid, so it all depends on what mood you're in - do you feel like a good laugh after all of the the serious flicks, action movies, and comedy bombs? Then Step Brothers is hands-down the movie for you, since there's no doubt it won't let you down in the laugh department.

But if you haven't gotten enough of the thrillers, then X-Files: I want to Believe is right up your ally - I definitely recommend it to anyone who was a fan of the TV series.

Since I'm going on vacation for a couple days I might just have to hit up both of these flicks... and re-see The Dark Knight. That's right, that's a vacation for me.

Until next week, may your popcorn always be buttered...
