The smash hit 2-player run-and-gun action game released earlier this year, Kane and Lynch, had a script passed around Hollywood at the same time as the game's release - and the big news today is that Bruce "Yippie-Kay-Ay" Willis has signed on for the role of Kane in the homicidal duo.
For the role of Lynch they're eyeing Academy-Award Winning actor Billy Bob Thorton to add even more star power to the (undoubtedly) bloody action flick.
The two are dead-ringers for the characters - Willis as Kane, the aging, balding, tough-as-nails ex-law guy, and Thorton as Lynch, the psychotic, homicidal convict. It's almost as if the game characters were modeled after the two actors.
The move for Willis is natural, what with the Die Hard franchise closing out, the role of an aging action star seems like the glove to his hand. John McClane on the wrong side of the law, if you will.
The film is going to be helmed by Simon Crane, a first-time director who has previously worked on films like Mr. and Mrs. Smith and X-Men: The Last Stand.
With one big name attached to the movie and another one in the works, is that enough to entice you to get excited about the movie yet? Is the rather rough history of video game movies enough to keep you away from it?
