Appearance:
Buffed orange colored ale. Creamy head of foam of mostly small beaded carbonation.
Smell:
Aromatically, there's a refreshing, lively delivery of citrus and malt in combination.
Taste:
Body is low end of medium. On the palate, citrus flavored hops (American Mount Hood) press firmly on the malt factor, which yields but remains resilient in the mouth. Middle has citrus hops in a dominant role, with malt as a backdrop element. Elongated finish delivers brisk hop bitterness, citrus flavors, and rich malt as support and balance.
Notes:
This beer is a bit of a hybrid in English brewing in that American hops are used, but more and more British brewers are using them to create diverse flavors in their beers. Bottle conditioned, therefore yeast sediment in the bottle. Pour gently in one steady motion, leaving about an inch of beer in the bottle, if you prefer a clear beer.
