Appearance:

Pitch black colored ale with an opaqueness about it. Mocha colored head of mixed sized bubbles of carbonation.

Smell:

Aromatic mixture of chocolate, roast, burnt toast, alcohol and green coffee beans.

Taste:

Full bodied ale. On the palate, alcohol is released from the grasp of roast, chocolate, malt and a background hop bitterness. Middle sees roast, toast, and alcohol bridging the malty backbone. Elongated, finish delivers alcohol, roast and chocolate flavors forward over a subdued malt hop base.

Notes:

Real ale in a bottle. Bottle conditioned, therefore yeast sediment in the bottle. For a clear beer, pour carefully in one go, leaving about an inch of yeast and beer in the bottle.
