Appearance:
Rich brown with tarnished ruby hues. Small bubbled off-white lace, good retention.
Smell:
Mild lemon, herbal tea-like aroma, fruity and toffee with a malty sweet aroma.
Taste:
Crisp carbonation with a malty palate and medium body. Foamy smoothness from the magnificent carbonation. A pretty fruity beer. Loads of grape flavors, sweet prune, light lemon flavor. Hops are light and barely are noticeable. Faint buttery caramel, burnt raisin / over-caramelized sugars and astrigent toasted grain in the finish.
Notes:
A hugely complex, and a most respectible Abbey Dubbel.
Beer Type: Belgian-style Dubbel
Country: Belgium
