Appearance:
Tarnished copper in color with a healthy off-white lace.
Smell:
Toasted malt with hints of biscuit and caramel. Berry-like fruit and buttery toffee in the nose also.
Taste:
Smooth mouth feel from the light yet even carbonation. Full-bodied with a slight slick buttery feeling. Big and malty, caramel and toasted malt all over the place. Good amount of diacetyl though it is balanced by the berry fruit flavor and warming alcohol. Hop bitterness is lightly assertive and does not get in the way. Caramel and grain in the finish.
Notes:
As usual this brew is a sure pick for winter seasonals. At around $8 a six-pack it is worth every penny. Gauged at around 7.0 percent abv.
