Appearance:
Frothy caked on head lays on top of a russet copper-colored brew.
Smell:
Sweet with a light toasty biscuit nose, mild berry and prune like fruitiness.
Taste:
Smooth creamy mildly carbonated mouth feel, medium to full-bodied, very malty. Toasted malt all over with a light sweetness that is quickly cut by a warming spicy alcohol and a generous handful of hop bitterness. Alcohol comes over quite estery which goes hand and hand with a lingering yet faded hop flavor to dry the finish up nicely.
Notes:
This brew is like an old ale...enough alcohol to warm the body and enough flavor and complexity to warm the soul.
