Appearance:
Good clarity, reddish tarnished copper colour with an off-white bubbly creamy head that subsides to a thin lace.
Smell:
Malty with an odd fruity, smoky hoppy twang.
Taste:
Medium body with medium carbonation that provides ample crispness. Malty with quick flashes of caramel and toasted grain with light cloying smokey flavors. Balancing semi-dry hop twang with warming alcohol and a pinch of residual sweetness and toasted grain in the finish.
Notes:
A cross between a scotch ale and an old mild ale. Drinkable, but for a winter ale it should be more inviting.
